1 injured as car rolls 120 feet off SR-76 in Pauma Valley

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — One person was rescued Wednesday morning after a rollover crash off State Route 76 in northwest Pauma Valley, reports FOX 5 San Diego.

The accident unfolded on the eastbound side of SR-76, west of Wilderness Gardens Preserve. Cal Fire San Diego crews were called to the area at around 5:35 a.m.

An early investigation indicates a vehicle was traveling eastbound on the highway when, for reasons still unclear, it ran off the roadway. Authorities said the vehicle traveled nearly 120 feet down a hill before coming to rest on its side.

Responding crew members had to use a 100-foot rope to access the driver, who suffered moderate injuries. The patient was then transported to an area hospital where their condition remains undisclosed.

No other major injuries were reported, and no other vehicles appear to have been involved.
