1 injured in DUI crash in Vista

VISTA, CA – According to FOX5 News, a crash involving an intoxicated driver left one person injured in Vista on Monday.

The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of North Santa Fe Avenue and Vista Village Drive. Authorities say 33-year-old Saul Celerino Villanueva Delgado was observed driving an Audi recklessly by a deputy. When Delgado realized he was being pursued by the deputy, he made an illegal U-turn and drove through a red light at the intersection before driving through a median fence and crashing into a Nissan SUV.

One person in the Nissan sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Delgado was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence.
