1 killed in crash, vehicle fire on SR-94 near SE Dulzura

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — One person died Wednesday evening after a fiery collision on State Route 94 near southeast Dulzura, according to FOX 5 San Diego.

The fatal wreck occurred on a span of SR-94 (Campo Road) near Cochera Via Drive, in a rural area northwest of Barrett Junction. Cal Fire San Diego crews were dispatched to the scene at around 7:15 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find one person deceased at the scene. By that time, a car fire had already spread to nearby brush.

Another victim was transported to Grossmont Hospital with minor injuries.

A section of SR-94 was shut down by the California Highway Patrol as an investigation was conducted. Motorists were advised to find alternate routes.

Authorities have not yet disclosed the circumstances of the fiery crash.
