1 left hurt after collision on I-5 SB connector near East Village

SAN DIEGO, CA — One person was reported injured Thursday evening following a crash on Interstate 5 near San Diego’s East Village area, reports the California Highway Patrol.

The accident took place on the ramp connecting southbound I-5 to eastbound State Route 94. It was first reported to the CHP shortly before 6:53 p.m.

Preliminary details indicate two vehicles were involved, leaving the connector’s left lane blocked. Occupants were able to exit both vehicles in the immediate aftermath.

Officials confirmed one person suffered minor injuries, though it was unclear whether the patient required transport to a hospital.

Two tow trucks were requested at the scene, suggesting significant vehicle damage.
