2 hospitalized after T-bone collision in Tierrasanta

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two women were hospitalized Monday morning after a two-vehicle accident in San Diego’s Tierrasanta neighborhood, reports OnScene.TV.

The wreck occurred at the corner of Santo Road and Tierrasanta Boulevard. It was first reported by OnScene at 10:54 a.m.

An early investigation indicates a woman was driving a Nissan southbound on Santo Road when she ran a red light at the intersection. Moments later, her car was T-boned by a woman driving a Honda westbound on Tierrasanta Boulevard on a yellow light.

Authorities said the impact of the crash caused the Nissan to flip in the air before landing back down on its wheels.

Crews had to extricate the driver of the Nissan from its wreckage.

Both women suffered undisclosed injuries and were transported to area hospitals.

All westbound lanes of Tierrasanta Boulevard were shut down during the response and vehicle clearance.
