22-year-old man killed in crash, wife injured while leaving apartment in Mission Valley

SAN DIEGO, CA – A 22-year-old man was hit and killed in a Mission Valley accident yesterday evening as he was leaving his apartment complex with his wife, according to ABC 10 News.

The accident happened at around 5 p.m. in the 6700 block of Friars Rd, near the Riverwalk Golf Club, when the 22-year-old driver of a 2014 Chevy Malibu was turning onto Friars from his apartment.

The 33-year-old driver of a 2020 Tesla Model Y then collided with the Chevy, killing the other driver as a result.

The victim’s wife, a 22-year-old passenger, sustained minor injuries during the accident.

The driver of the Tesla was not reported as injured.
