3 kids, 1 adult hospitalized two-vehicle crash in Skyline

SAN DIEGO, CA — Three young children and an elderly man were sent to the hospital Sunday night after a two-vehicle crash in San Diego’s Skyline neighborhood, reports ABC 10 News.

San Diego Police responded to the scene in the 6600 block of Skyline Drive shortly after 6:50 p.m.

An early investigation indicates a 70-year-old man was behind the wheel of a 2019 Ford F-250 pickup truck heading eastbound on the road. While he was stopped at a red light and waiting to turn right onto Woodman Street, his pickup was rear-ended by a 2001 Honda driven by a 25-year-old man.

Two 3-year-olds and a 4-year-old in the Honda suffered serious injuries. Authorities learned they were not properly fastened at the time of the accident. All three were transported to a local hospital where their condition remains undisclosed.

The driver of the Ford sustained a neck injury, though it was unclear whether he was taken to a hospital.

Officials did not say whether the driver of the Honda was hurt.

An investigation by the San Diego Police Department was underway. No pending charges have been reported as of this writing.
