4 people injured in fiery rollover crash on SR-78 in San Marcos

SAN DIEGO, CA – Four people, including a teenage boy, were injured after a vehicle crashed and burst into flames in San Marcos early this morning, according to Times of San Diego.

The crash happened on westbound State Route 78, west of Nordahl Road, at about 4 a.m., after the 16-year-old driver of a 2016 Dodge Ram veered off the side of the road. The vehicle then collided with a guardrail, a tree, and then a fence before bursting into flames and overturning.

The driver and his passengers, two 22-year-old women and a 21-year-old woman, were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. They were able to escape the vehicle before it caught fire.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
