4 seriously hurt in T-bone crash at El Cajon intersection

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Four people were hospitalized with serious injuries early Monday after two pickup trucks collided at an El Cajon intersection, reports ABC10 News.

El Cajon Police said the accident happened at Avocado Avenue and East Washington Avenue shortly after 1:50 a.m.

Details remain limited, but a preliminary investigation indicates one pickup truck failed to stop at a red light and T-boned another pickup truck moments later.

First responders had to use the Jaws of Life extrication tools to remove one of the drivers, who was left trapped in the wreckage. Four victims were ultimately rushed to an area hospital with injuries believed to be serious.

An investigation was underway to determine fault in the crash. It was not immediately clear whether drugs, alcohol, or a medical condition contributed to the wreck.
