61-year-old man killed in crash on I-8 EB in Pine Valley

PINE VALLEY, CA – FOX5 News reports that a 61-year-old man was killed in an accident on I-8 EB in Pine Valley on Wednesday morning.

The crash was reported shortly before 8:00 a.m. just east of Springs Road. Authorities say the driver lost control of his vehicle while driving a grey Chrysler sedan at high speeds, which sent the car into the right shoulder of the interstate and caused it to flip over multiple times.

The driver was thrown out of the vehicle on impact and killed in the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene after first responders unsuccessfully attempted life-saving measures.

Officials with the California Highway Patrol suspect that the rainy weather and slippery road conditions may have been factors in the cause of the accident. DUI has also not been ruled out at this time.
