71-year-old driver injured in crash on I-5 SB in La Jolla

LA JOLLA, CA – According to a report from La Jolla Light, one person was injured in a crash that took place in an embankment just off I-5 SB in La Jolla on Wednesday.

Authorities say the accident took place shortly before 7:00 a.m. just south of Gilman Drive. A 71-year-old driver was traveling southbound in a Porsche Carrera when he lost control of the car and veered off the interstate. The vehicle flipped over into an embankment before coming to a final landing on its roof. The driver was trapped inside the vehicle in the accident.

First responders had to extricate the driver from the Porsche at the scene. He was then transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
