Ambulance called after car strikes tree in SW Escondido

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Medics were dispatched Friday afternoon after a single-vehicle accident on Elfin Forest Road in southwest Escondido, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident took place at the transition into Harmony Grove Road, in the Elfin Forest area. Dispatchers first received the call at around 2:33 p.m.

Preliminary details indicate a black Nissan Altima veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. A “Caution” road sign was also hit and downed.

The CHP has not confirmed any serious injuries at this time, but an ambulance was requested at the scene.

Tow crews were asked to respond to the site with 50 feet of cable for the Nissan, which sustained “major damage.”
