Ambulance requested after major crash on SR-75 WB in Coronado

SAN DIEGO, CA — A serious two-vehicle collision was reported late Wednesday afternoon on State Route 75 near Coronado Tidelands Park, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on the westbound side of SR-75 at Coronado’s Toll Plaza, past the San Diego-Coronado Bridge. It was first reported to the CHP at 4:52 p.m.

Officials have not said what led up to the crash, but a white SUV and a white Nissan Versa were involved, causing the Nissan to smoke and leaving at least part of the highway blocked.

At least one ambulance and a tow truck were requested at the scene, but authorities have not confirmed any major injuries as of this writing.
