Ambulance requested after SUV vs motorcycle crash on I-8 near Old Town

SAN DIEGO, CA — Medics were dispatched to a crash involving a motorcyclist Friday night on Interstate 8 in San Diego’s Old Town area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck occurred on the eastbound side of I-8, west of Hotel Circle South, near Presidio Park. Dispatchers first received the call at around 8:55 p.m.

Officials have not disclosed the cause of the accident, but a motorcycle reportedly came to rest in lane #1 following a collision with a dark-colored SUV.

While the nature of the crash and the severity of injuries was not immediately clear, one person observed the rider walking in the aftermath.

At least one ambulance and a tow truck were requested at the scene.
