Authorities respond to wreck on I-8 EB in Grantville

SAN DIEGO, CA — A two-vehicle accident was reported Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 8 in the Grantville neighborhood of San Diego, reports the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on the eastbound lanes approaching Fairmount Avenue and Mission Gorge Road. It was first reported to the CHP at about 5:49 p.m.

According to officials, a silver Honda CRV came to rest in the roadway’s center median after being struck by a black Mustang.

No major injuries were immediately reported, but the CHP Traffic Incident Information Page shows the reporting party’s mother, who was a passenger in the Honda, declined medical attention at the scene.
