CHP called to two-vehicle crash on I-15 in north Escondido

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A two-vehicle collision was reported late Friday afternoon on Interstate 15 near the Gopher Canyon Park and Ride in north Escondido, reports the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on the northbound interstate north of Gopher Canyon Road and was first reported to the CHP at 4:39 p.m.

Details remain limited, but officials confirmed one of the involved vehicles had been called in for undisclosed reasons prior to the crash.

Both drivers were able to pull over to the right shoulder and away from traffic lanes.

At this time, no injuries have been reported.
