Construction truck overturns on I-8 EB in La Mesa

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A rollover crash involving a construction truck was reported Thursday evening on Interstate 8 in La Mesa, according to Caltrans San Diego.

The accident happened on the eastbound side of I-8, at Exit 12 to Fletcher Parkway. Dispatchers first received the call shortly before 6:00 p.m.

While officials have not said what led up to the wreck, the three left eastbound lanes were blocked in the 30 minutes following the initial report.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., one lane had reopened, leaving two left lanes closed for more than another 1.5 hours.

By 8:05 p.m., crews had removed the overturned vehicle from the roadway, and all lanes were restored to traffic.

It was unclear whether the driver or anyone else was hurt.
