Crash on SR-15 leads to lengthy closures and traffic delays in E San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA – A crash on State Route 15 led to road closures and lengthy traffic delays early this morning in East San Diego, according to Caltrans San Diego.

The crash happened on northbound SR-15, near El Cajon Boulevard and University Avenue at about 12:50 a.m.

All lanes of northbound traffic were initially blocked as a result of the crash.

By 1:18 a.m., authorities had opened the right lane, but the remaining four lanes were still closed.

All lanes were opened by 5:17 a.m.

It is unclear at this point what led to the collision or if anyone was hurt in the crash.
