Driver crashes into Chula Vista liquor store while parking

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, GA — Damage was reported Tuesday morning after a driver accidentally crashed into a liquor store while parking in Chula Vista, according to San Diego Union-Tribune.

The incident occurred at the Quick Stop Liquor store at the corner of Broadway and J Street shortly before 9:35 a.m.

According to police, the driver mistook his car’s gas pedal for the brake while parking outside the store. The crash caused structural damage to the building and the store’s refrigerated coolers, causing several items to fall out onto the floor.

After questioning the driver, authorities did not suspect intoxication to have been a factor in the accident.

A city engineer was dispatched to the store and determined the building to be safe, but advised against allowing anyone near the site of impact.

No injuries have been reported in the incident.
