Driver crashes stolen car into South Park flower shop

SAN DIEGO, CA — A woman was arrested late Monday morning after crashing a stolen vehicle into a business in San Diego’s South Park neighborhood, according to ABC 10 News.

The incident occurred at Native Poppy, a flower shop off the corner of Grape Street and Fern Street, shortly before 11:00 a.m.

San Diego Police said the woman had stolen a car and sped off before losing control and slamming into the store.

Although the location is usually closed on Mondays, two people who were in the shop at the time narrowly missed being hit. No injuries were reported.

The driver fled the scene on foot but was later arrested.

A photo taken inside the store after the crash shows extensive property damage. Authorities said the building has since been red-tagged, forcing the business owners to rely on another store location and deliveries for income.
