Driver dies after crashing into railing in Barrio Logan

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 41-year-old man was killed Wednesday night when his car collided with a concrete railing in San Diego’s Barrio Logan area, reports Times of San Diego.

The accident happened in the 3300 block of Main Street at about 8:00 p.m.

An early investigation indicates the man was behind the wheel of a silver 2007 Saturn when he neared a red light and veered to the left of two stopped vehicles. The Saturn then clipped a 2005 Ford Focus that had entered eastbound traffic from the I-15 exit ramp.

Authorities said the impact of the crash caused the Ford to spin across the intersection. The driver of the Saturn then lost control of his car and slammed into the roadway’s concrete railing.

Responding medics confirmed the man died from his injuries at the scene.
