Driver hospitalized after crash off I-15 in east San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was seriously injured Friday morning in a single-vehicle rollover wreck off Interstate 15 near east San Diego, according to OnScene.TV.

The accident occurred on the southbound lanes near I-805 and was first reported by OnScene shortly before 7:00 a.m.

An early investigation indicates the man was driving a Toyota southbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car and veered off the roadway. The vehicle flipped multiple times before landing on its roof in a storm channel.

Passersby were able to assist the victim out of the wreckage before he was transported to a local hospital with a broken arm, lacerations to the head, and other undisclosed injuries.

No further details have been released at this time.
