Driver hurt in tanker truck wreck on SR-67 near Lakeside

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A man was injured early Friday after a tanker truck overturned on California Highway 67 near Sycamore Canyon Trail Head in Lakeside, according to ABC 10 News.

The accident took place on the northbound highway just south of Foster Truck Trail at around 7:00 a.m.

It was unclear what led up to the crash, but crews with Lakeside Fire Protection District arrived to find the truck rolled 40 feet down an embankment.

First responders worked to extricate the driver from the wreckage and transported him to a local hospital in “mild condition.”

No other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles appear to have been involved.

All northbound lanes in the area were jammed for most of the morning as crews worked to clear the wreck from the embankment.
