Driver rear-ends stalled car on I-5 SB near Mission Hills

SAN DIEGO, CA — A rollover collision involving two vehicles was reported Saturday night on Interstate 5 near San Diego’s Mission Hills neighborhood, according to OnScene.TV.

The accident took place on the southbound lanes near the West Washington Street exit and was first reported by OnScene at 11:22. p.m.

An early investigation indicates a man was driving southbound in a white sedan when he hit the back of a bronze-colored sedan, failing to notice it had stalled.

The impact of the crash pushed the disabled car off the roadway and caused it to flip onto its roof down a nearby embankment.

Responding firefighters had to extricate the male victim from the wreckage, but neither he nor the other male driver were hurt in the incident.

Lanes 3 and 4 were shut down for more than an hour as crews worked to move the impacted car back up on the road.
