Driver strikes Man-Lift near language academy in Clairemont

SAN DIEGO, CA — A collision was reported last Thursday morning involving a pickup truck and a man-lift near a parking lot in north San Diego’s Clairemont area, according to OnScene.TV.

The incident occurred on Mt. Etna Drive, near the Mt. Herbert Avenue intersection, and was first reported by OnScene at 7:16 a.m.

An early investigation indicates a man was driving a pickup truck eastbound on the road when he was temporarily blinded by glare caused by the rising sun. The pickup struck a mobile man-lift as it was being driven into the parking lot of the San Diego Unified School District’s John Muir Language Academy.

Authorities said the lift’s operator had been strapped into the vehicle at the time, and neither he nor the pickup truck driver was hurt.
