DUI suspect arrested after car strikes Ocean Beach home

SAN DIEGO, CA — A driver suspected of impairment was arrested early Tuesday after his convertible slammed into a home in San Diego’s Ocean Beach neighborhood, reports ABC10 News.

The incident took place in the 2000 block of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, shortly after 1:45 a.m.

According to San Diego Police, the suspect was driving a cherry red Camaro when, for reasons still unclear, he veered off the roadway, causing the car to crash into the front of the residence.

Responding officers arrested the driver, who sustained minor injuries, for suspected intoxication. It was unclear whether he had to be taken to a hospital.

Officials said the home was unoccupied at the time of the crash, and no other injuries were reported.
