DUI suspect arrested after rollover crash on I-805 onramp in Chula Vista

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A woman was suspected of impairment late Tuesday after her SUV overturned on an Interstate 805 entrance ramp in Chula Vista, reports ABC10 News.

California Highway Patrol officials said the accident occurred on the I-805 northbound ramp from Bonita Road, shortly after 11:20 p.m.

An early investigation found that the woman was driving when she lost control of her SUV, causing it to run off the roadway. Moments later, the vehicle flipped and came to a stop on its roof.

Authorities said a feature on the woman’s iPhone detected the crash and dialed 911. Though the female driver was able to safely crawl out of the rolled vehicle without any reported injuries, she was arrested for suspected DUI.

No other occupants or vehicles appear to have been involved.
