DUI suspect, passenger hospitalized after crash with parked big rig in Allied Gardens

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two people were injured early Thursday due to a suspected DUI crash in San Diego’s Allied Gardens neighborhood, according to FOX 5 San Diego.

San Diego Police Department officials say the wreck occurred on Princess View Drive at about 2:00 a.m.

A preliminary investigation found that a 38-year-old man was driving a gray 2015 Toyota Corolla northbound when the car hit the back of a parked tractor-trailer.

First responders had the male driver and his passenger rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital. Officials said the driver sustained a laceration to his head, while his passenger suffered a fracture to their pelvis and left arm. The injuries of both patients are believed to be non-life-threatening.

An investigation by the SDPD’s Traffic Division remains ongoing, but alcohol appears to have contributed to the crash. No information regarding a possible arrest or pending charges has been reported at this time.
