Food truck hits guardrail, crashes off SR-76 in Pauma Valley

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A food truck struck a guardrail Monday afternoon and ran off California Highway 76 in east Pauma Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on a span of the highway just east of Red Gate Road and was first reported by the CHP at 3:16 p.m.

According to the CHP traffic incident log, the 30-foot box truck went through a line of guardrail and crashed came to rest about 40 feet away from the roadway.

No other vehicles appear to have been involved.

It was unclear whether anyone was seriously injured, but an ambulance was requested at the scene.

As of 3:33 p.m., authorities projected tow crews would arrive within the hour to clear the scene.
