Hit-and-run driver sought after crash at Ocean Beach skate park

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two passengers were abandoned by their driver late Sunday after an SUV crashed into a skate park in San Diego’s Ocean Beach neighborhood, reports ABC10 News.

The incident occurred at Ocean Beach Athletic Area – Robb Field, located in the 2900 block of Sunset Cliffs Boulevard.

According to a witness, a driver in a black SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle went through an intersection and collided with a wall and multiple trees. As the vehicle turned, it reportedly struck the rails and went airborne and landed on its side.

The witness rushed to assist the passengers out of the wreckage after the driver fled the scene on foot.

The remaining occupants appeared to have sustained only minor injuries, including cuts and bruises.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the wreck, but one of the passengers said they were receiving a ride home from a nightclub at the time.
