Huntington Park- Elderly Man Injured As His Pick Up Truck Crashed Into Parked Cars

A pick up truck was seen accelerating at a high rate of speed as it drove around a Huntington Park intersection and crashed into parked vehicles on Sunday, June 23, 2019. The crash reportedly occurred at the corner of Gage and Wilmington Avenues around 1 pm. The driver of the 1999 Ford pick up truck was identified as Jose Landazure, 75 years old. He lost control of his vehicle while he was driving it and it crashed into 4 unoccupied parked vehicles. Bystanders were reportedly alarmed after witnessing the horrific crash. The pick up truck began emitting smoke after after it crashed into the back end of an SUV parked outside an auto shop on the south side of Gage Avenue. After hitting the SUV, the pick up truck reversed at a high speed and tires screeching, backs across the intersection and crashed into the side of a white SUV it earlier collided into. Landazure was believed to had sustained injuries. However, police said they were not sure of the extent of Landazure’s injuries. Landazure refused medical attention and was released at the site of the accident. It was believed that his family later on took him to the hospital so that he could be medically checked. One of the bystanders was suspected to may had hurt Landazure. A witness saw a bystander punch the elderly man on the face following the crash.
