Injuries reported after two-vehicle wreck on I-15 in Temecula

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — At least one person was hurt early Friday afternoon due to a collision on Interstate 15 in northwest Temecula, reports the California Highway Patrol.

Officials said the accident happened on the southbound highway, north of Exit 61 to Winchester Road, or State Route 79. Dispatchers first received the call just before 12:41 p.m.

Preliminary details indicate a black four-door sedan and a pickup truck were involved in a crash that resulted in minor injuries to at least one person.

While the circumstances of the incident remain unclear, the concrete wall along the Winchester Road offramp sustained minor damage.

The vehicles were reportedly blocking the right shoulder and part of the right lane in the immediate aftermath.

It was unclear whether the injured party required transport to a hospital, but tow services were requested for at least one vehicle.
