Male pedestrian hit, seriously hurt by vehicle in Clairemont Mesa East

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 68-year-old man was hospitalized late Friday night, July 28, after being struck by a car in San Diego’s Clairemont Mesa East area, reports ABC10 News.

The incident occurred in the 6800 block of Balboa Avenue at around 11:28 p.m.

San Diego Police said the male pedestrian had begun to cross the road and was mid-block when he was hit by a 2005 Dodge Neon.

Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, including several fractures and cuts to his face.

An investigation into the cause of the crash was being conducted by the SDPD’s Traffic Division.
