Man dies after being run over by delivery truck in Miramar

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 28-year-old man was fatally injured early Wednesday when he was run over by a delivery truck in San Diego’s Miramar neighborhood, reports FOX 5 San Diego.

The fatal incident was reported in the parking lot located at 9750 Distribution Avenue, the address for Cutwater Tasting Room, at about 2:00 a.m.

Preliminary details show that a 31-year-old man had gotten into a parked Chevrolet delivery truck when he started to drive eastbound across the lot. San Diego Police said the male driver was not immediately aware that he had run over the victim, who was laying down underneath the truck.

First responders rushed the victim to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

An investigation by the SDPD’s Traffic Division remains underway, but officials have since determined that the victim had been consuming alcoholic beverages some time before the event.
