Man dies after two-car crash near El Cajon shopping center

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — An 83-year-old man died Sunday evening after a two-vehicle collision near a shopping center in El Cajon, according to FOX 5 San Diego.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Broadway and Graves Avenue shortly before 5:54 p.m.

El Cajon Police said an 86-year-old woman was driving a sedan west on Broadway and was turning southbound onto Graves Avenue when it was hit by a pickup truck going eastbound on Broadway.

The 83-year-old man had been sitting in the front passenger seat, which was struck in the accident. He was seriously injured and was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.

The driver of the sedan sustained minor injuries.

Authorities say the driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck was not injured in the accident. No drugs or alcohol were not suspected factors.
