Man hospitalized after being ejected from e-bike in Shelltown crash

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 32-year-old man was seriously hurt early Tuesday evening when his electric bicycle hit a pickup truck in San Diego’s Shelltown neighborhood, reports NBC San Diego.

The accident took place in the 4200 block of Nordica Avenue, at around 5:00 p.m.

San Diego Police said the man was operating an e-bike on the road when it collided with the rear bumper of a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

The cyclist, who was thrown from the bike in the impact of the crash, suffered serious injuries.

First responders rushed the victim to a local hospital where his condition remains unknown to the public.
