Man hospitalized after being hit, dragged by car in Hillcrest

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 65-year-old man was seriously injured late Sunday morning when he was hit and dragged 30 feet by a vehicle in San Diego’s Hillcrest neighborhood, reports NBC San Diego.

San Diego Police and local firefighters responded to the scene in the west alley of 3800 Park Boulevard shortly after 11:38 a.m.

Preliminary details indicate the male pedestrian was lying on a mattress in the alley off University Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle that had turned into the area.

The victim, who was dragged about 30 feet by vehicle, was transported to an area hospital with multiple injuries, including second- and third-degree burns and a fractured femur.

No other information on the patient or the driver, a 48-year-old man, has been released at this time. No charges have been reported.
