Man seriously hurt after allegedly running stop sign at Orange and Estrella Aves

SAN DIEGO, CA – A driver was severely injured after he allegedly ran a stop sign at an intersection in the Teralta East neighborhood on Saturday afternoon, according to the Times of San Diego.

The crash happened at Orange Avenue and Estrella Avenue just before 12:30 p.m., when the 45-year-old driver of a black Toyota Prius headed southbound reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign. He then collided with an eastbound, black Toyota Highlander.

The driver of the Prius was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for severe injuries, including a fractured thigh.

The other driver, a 45-year-old woman, was not hurt in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.
