Medics called after collision on SR-76 in Fallbrook

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — Authorities were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on State Route 76 in southeast Fallbrook, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident took place at the SR-76 intersection with Old Highway 395, just west of Interstate 15. It was first reported to the CHP shortly before 1:53 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicates a gray Mitsubishi Outlander and a gray van were involved. One vehicle was seen running a red light and then striking the second car that was turning left at the intersection. The force of the crash caused the airbags in at least one vehicle to deploy.

CHP officials have not disclosed the conditions of those involved, but at least one ambulance and tow services were requested at the scene.
