Medics called after two-vehicle wreck on I-15 in Escondido

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — An ambulance was called Wednesday evening after a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 15 near Escondido Promenade in central Escondido, according to California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred on the southbound lanes approaching West 9th Avenue and Auto Park Way. It was first reported by CHP shortly before 5:30 p.m.

Details are limited at this time, but authorities indicated a white Lexus struck the center divider, causing it to spin out before colliding with a black Ford F-150 pickup truck.

The event caused multiple center and right lanes to shut down as first responders arrived.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage, but only the white Lexus was towed from the scene.

CHP said the party in the Lexus required medical assistance, but no further details have been released confirming the number of people hurt or the extent of their injuries.
