Medics respond to rear-end crash on SR-78 ramp in Oceanside

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A two-car accident was reported Tuesday afternoon on California Highway 78 near Oceanside’s Mira Costa neighborhood, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision took place on the the SR-78 entrance ramp from College Boulevard shortly before 3:32 p.m.

Little information has been released at this time, but CHP said drivers in a black Audi Q7 and a black four-door Honda sedan were involved.

The CHP traffic incident log indicates the reporting party had a 6-week-old baby in the their vehicle when it was rear-ended by the other party. It was unclear whether any serious injuries were reported, but an ambulance was requested at the scene.

By 3:46 p.m., a fire truck had responded to the scene, blocking the left lane of the onramp.

Both vehicles were pulled over to the right shoulder and were said to have remained in operable condition after the crash.
