Motorcyclist dies following crash with SUV near Carlsbad State Beach

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A crash between a motorcycle and an SUV Saturday evening in Carlsbad claimed the life of the 25-year-old rider, according to ABC10 News.

The fatal crash unfolded in the 4500 block of Carlsbad Boulevard, near Carlsbad State Beach, just before 6:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that a 25-year-old man from Kentucky was operating a Kawasaki motorcycle at a high rate of speed when the bike hit the back of a Chevy SUV. The impact caused the rider to eject and land in the roadway.

First responders rushed the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, confirmed officials. His identity remains undisclosed at this time.

An investigation remains in progress, but local police have determined that drugs and alcohol did not contribute to the accident.
