Motorcyclist hit, critically hurt by truck in Kearny Mesa

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 27-year-old man was seriously injured late Sunday when his motorcycle was clipped by a Penske truck in San Diego’s Kearny Mesa area, according to Times of San Diego.

The crash happened in the 9000 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at about 11:00 p.m.

A preliminary investigation by the San Diego Police indicates the victim was riding a Suzuki GSxR in the right lane at the same time a 53-year-old man was driving the truck in the middle lane.

Officials said the truck driver made a right turn in the motorcyclist’s direct path, hitting the rider’s right side.

Medics rushed the victim to a local hospital with serious lung and back injuries. He was listed in life-threatening condition, having lost sensation in his legs and blood flow below the waist.

An investigation by the SDPD was underway. Officials said alcohol was not found to have beeen a factor in the crash.
