Multi-semi crash closes lane on I-15 SB in Escondido

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — A crash involving three semi-trucks was reported late Wednesday morning on Interstate 15 in Escondido, according to Caltrans San Diego.

The collision took place on the southbound interstate north of Exit 33 to El Norte Parkway, in the Country Club area. It was first reported by Caltrans at 11:20 a.m.

Authorities have not said what led to the wreck, but the right southbound lane was blocked for over an hour as a result.

By 12:27 p.m., crews had cleared the vehicles from the scene and all lanes were reported reopened.

It was unclear whether any of the involved drivers were injured.
