One airlifted after car crashes into yard, car in Campo

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — One person was seriously injured late Monday morning when a car crashed into a county yard and struck another vehicle in Campo, according to California Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred off the intersection of Forrest Gate Road and Jeb Stuart Lane, near East County Lumber & Ranch Supply. It was first reported by CHP at around 11:13 a.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash, but the CHP traffic incident page indicates one person either jumped out of, or was ejected, a moving vehicle when the car crashed into a yard and struck another vehicle.

Medics rushed the victim by airlift to an undisclosed hospital. No information on the severity of their condition has been released.

The intersection was blocked off during the emergency response.
