One hurt in crash, car fire on Rainbow Canyon Rd in Temecula

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — One person was injured Tuesday afternoon in a fiery single-vehicle collision on Rainbow Canyon Road near southeast Temecula, according to California Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at the Pechanga Parkway intersection and was first reported by CHP at 1:56 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash, but the CHP traffic incident log indicates the driver was possibly impaired at the time.

The suspect was arrested and then transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar with minor injuries.

Authorities said the accident caused the vehicle run off the roadway, catch fire, and then become fully engulfed in flames. About 80 feet of guardrail damage was also observed at the scene.
