One injured in collision on SR-78 WB near San Marcos

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — At least one person was hurt Friday afternoon in a crash on California Highway 78 near San Marcos, according to California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened in the westbound lanes of the highway near Exit 12 to West San Marcos Boulevard. It was first reported by CHP shortly before 2:00 p.m.

Few details have been released at this time, but the driver of a black Honda Accord had initially driven away after they were hit by another vehicle. They later returned near the site of the crash and pulled over to a right shoulder.

At least one other vehicle had come to rest in the roadway’s center divider.

The CHP crash report indicates minor injuries in the event, but it was unclear how many people were hurt or how many vehicles were involved.
