One injured in rollover crash on SR-125 near NE Chula Vista

SAN DIEGO COUNTY, CA — One person was hurt Friday morning in a two-vehicle rollover collision on California Highway 125 near Chula Vista’s San Miguel Ranch, according to California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on the southbound highway north of San Miguel Ranch Road shortly before 8:00 a.m.

A witness told California Highway Patrol that a red SUV was traveling recklessly and had multiple near-collisions prior to colliding with a blue pickup truck. The impact of the wreck caused one vehicle to flip onto its roof and the other to roll on its side. Both vehicles came to rest in the center divider, blocking the far left lane.

An ambulance was en route to the scene for one person who reported back pain.

The CHP traffic incident log also indicates a lab tech was called to the area, suggesting suspected DUI.
