One Killed, Three Hurt in Lake Elsinore Rollover Car Crash

20-year-old Zachary Butcher died and his three companions suffered serious injuries in a rollover car crash that took place on March 14, 2012, around 11:46 p.m. along Highway 74 (SR-74) in the Ortega Mountains overlooking Lake Elsinore. According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), 21-year-old Delbert Parada, the driver, was heading west along Highway 74 in his black 2005 Ford F150 when he entered a left curve.

Parada overcorrected and the Ford crossed both lanes of Hwy. 74 and traveling partially up the embankment. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its wheels, blocking both lanes.

Butcher sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the accident scene. The driver and two other passengers reportedly suffered minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to the statement, a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by Jose Balandran, of Wildomar, hit the F150, which was still in the roadway. Balandran was not injured.

From the present facts, it is clear that Parada’s negligent driving caused these injuries, and he should be held liable for Butcher’s death.
