Passenger killed in two-car crash at Bay Terraces intersection

SAN DIEGO, CA — One person died Tuesday night after being ejected during a collision in San Diego’s Bay Terraces neighborhood, according to ABC10 News.
The fatal accident occurred at the corner of South Woodman Avenue and Jamie Avenue. San Diego Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene at around 9:24 p.m.
An early investigation found that a 24-year-old man was driving a Honda southbound at the same time that another man driving a 2006 Kia Sedona in the opposite way. Authorities said the driver of the Kia began to turn onto Woodman Avenue without yielding to the right of way, resulting in a crash.
One of the Honda’s two passengers was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials. The victim was found to have not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the impact.
The Honda’s other passenger, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was transported to a local hospital. All other involved occupants sustained minor injuries.
